Summer undergraduate student frost review project

Hiya,
Our Planet Four undergraduate summer student Chuhong (username: tianxuan) is doing an investigation with the cutouts many of you have marked as having frost with hashtags. We're coming up with a sample of images that have definite frost features and seeing what they can tell us about how these features form and under what conditions they persist.
Chuhong is going to use Talk as part of her research notes for this frost review project. She's noting interesting features or unique things about the cutouts that the science team may want to further investigate or think about as she reviews roughly ~4000 cutouts that have been tagged with hashtags frequently used for frost images to come with a sample of frost images.
She's labeling her notes in the 140 character comment threads using the #frostreview hashtag in case you're interested.
Cheers,
~Meg

Good luck to Chuhong. I have rarely used the hashtag 'frost', but collected #bluefrost. may be others have tagged things in the same sort of way. ~Pete

Hi Pete,
We grabbed a whole bunch of hashtags like #blue, #frost, #blue-fans and some collections we found including your CPFS0001cc, Angie's (angi60) CPFS0001es, dottosian's CPFL000010, and EA2014's CPFS00081u among others.
Thanks to everyone for organizing the images together. All the labeling and collecting brought the task from 50,000 images to ~4000 images.
Cheers,
~Meg

Hiya,
A quick note to say that Chuhong gave a great presentation yesterday summarizing the work she did generating a map projection pipeline and some preliminary results from her frost investigation. More details to come on the blog soon.
Cheers,
~Meg

Would that be a CO2 pipeline, or something to help spiders across the road safely? 😉
