Very interesting... spun the image through 180. I think I prefer the un-spun version.

Blimey. Is it really that long since I've been in here? Sorry JM.
The image is from the 'Inca City' region, which is a mystery in itself. It's well outside the boundary of the polar layered deposits so it's nothing to do with them, but well within the extent of the seasonal icelayer. Ls = 247 deg (southern spring) so my guess is 'rippled ice'.
