Deciding on an object, could be helped by knowing the sun direction of shadow, a simple arrow could be a great help.

You're right about the 'direction arrow' and if I'm not mistaken it's on the list of things that might be incorperated in future versions of the project. In the images we're marking here, sunlight is coming in from the bottom-right(ish) of the image. Hope that helps - Good hunting. 😃
