Alignment / direction of fans.

As fans are wind-blown linear deposits, should we expect all fans in one field / picture to be aligned, or could they be deposited over time in different directions?

I guess if the wind keeps changing direction and the 'geysers' (or whatever they are) erupt at different times for different durations then the fans will show different orientations and different widths. Long narrow fans show same wind direction for duration of 'eruption'.

This is one of the questions we're going to answer with your clicks. There are so many fans no one has mapped them individually so this is something that we can further explore with your mappings. We'll be able to generate a map of all the fan directions and compare that to simulations of the Martian atmosphere (we call these global climate models). There are is some evidence for this and that we see some fans that originate from the same point suggesting the wind blew one way and then switched.

I found a image that looks like a converging fan field, not seen anything similar.
