Direction of light source on images

  • doowac by doowac

Is there any information available against each image to indicate the direction of the sun (light source) when the image was taken. Would this not be useful to determine whether features are concave or convex?

100% agree with this. Hope you (WE) get an answer.

Totally agree. Would help to determine if features are pits or boulders, channels or ridges. Guess this information not strictly necessary for identification of blotches or fans, but would be nice to know.

I read in one reply that the Sun is high overhead in all images. Now to find it.....

Found something - though not conclusive! Some clues here in the comments on the right:

If you could rotate the image 180°, craters should become boulders.
