Interesting Lava Flows On Surface

  • MichaelHarleman by MichaelHarleman

Found some old lava flows with some discernable weather patterns. Very difficult to differentiate weather patterns, but still possible to find a few. Darker discolored areas appear to be wind blown soil.

Hi Michael. Interesting shot. The sub solar azimuth is listed as 31.9° so the terraine is illuminated from the lower right side. You can see the shadows, so these are actually hollows with the right lip in shadow, and the left riseing side well lit. I think these are the remains of spider channels in the under surface when the upper surface has defrosted.. Regards ~ pete.
