  Nice. It's hard to say for sure, but it looks a little more damp/compacted/clay-like than yer 'normal' sahara landscape. You're right about it being a bit spidery. Fascinating.

  That IS interesting .... some even have white-ish streaks coming off the tops and leaving white deposits (salt I guess) on the ground and the 'centers' are fascinating too .....
