Pock marks or small eruptions?

  I spotted these oddities which might be small indentations, or might be small (possibly pointed) eruptions from the surface. Does anyone know which way the light is shining from?

  The light is coming from the bottom right, as it is in most of the images you'll see here, with that in mind you can see that the 'indents' are boulders on the surface with shadows to the top left side.
