  A glitch in the HiRise camera. Lots of these, and red ones in many images. Most glitches are obvious, but some are more tricky. There are even some 'glitches' that people like me think aren't glitches at all !! http://talk.planetfour.org/#/boards/BPF0000002/discussions/DPF0000dfz

  In the discussion above, 'rustgrust' is our pet name for reddish dust fans and blotches. Grust is our pet name for the black dust fans and blotches in the images.

  Looks like end of a N-S ridge illuminated from the right side to me, rather than 'grust' patch. Maybe a bit of both? HiRISE seems to show light coming from right.
