I believe the lighter area on outer edges of the fans is carbon dioxide ice formation and should be marked with an object of interest

Right on the mark! 😉 Either a previous fan has changed the surface to be more shiny (after the dust has been blown away or sunken into the ice) or a previous CO2 condensation happened around there. But definitely an object of interest!

It looks to me like the surface of Mars is perhaps a few different shades despite the shadow look a like
