'Spring lines.

I've commented on the boards before about these lines of spider channels below a ridge, just like a terrestrial 'spring line' I still havent got an explanation, so I'm putting it out again for discussion.~Pete

pete that is an interesting feature and i believe it fits in with my interest of if/how elevation plays a role in spider shape/formation. i will try to keep an eye out for similar examples. for certain something inhibited channel formation on the opposite side.

Hi Bill. I'm wondering whether you mean 'slope' rather than 'elevation'? We're pretty confident that slope can affect the direction of fans and several of these 'spring lines' (that I call fringe spiders) can be seen at the bottom of slopes, especially in Inca City.

That's not to say that elevation doesn't play a part in spider formation 😉
