There seems to be something white on the surface. What is it?

I think Kitharode has already answered your question. It is frost or ice (but not as we know it).

So i am really new to this (5 minutes), but what is the white "vain" like pattern on this image?

The white is frost/ice lying in the 'spider' channels. The vein-like strands are channels 'carved' into the surface of Mars.

Pleasure. Sunlight comes in from bottom right of these images, so channels can look like ridges and vice verca. I still get caught out !!
