Image discusion

  I think there is not vents but crevases in the landscape releasing the black substance in this image. Does anyone agree?

  A vent is a narrow opening or fissure whereas a crevice is an opening that allows air, gas, or liquid to pass out. I'm not sure I could tell the difference.
