Just out of curiousity how many images have yet to be classified ?

I see that over 60,000 volunteers have registered but only about six actively online.. Where have all the plotters gone?

Is that over 60.000 volunteers, or over 60.000 sign-ins by a far lesser amount of volunteers perhaps? It just amazes me that you see the same few regulars on here & 1 or 2 others each day, & then see another 200 odd have joined???

time difference could be a factor since this project has worldwide participants. but even with time difference and drop-out rates, this doesn't really explain low number of online partcipants (at least ~evening time british time). quite weird! maybe it's due to some technical reason.

This is pretty typical for web projects. Majority come and do a few classifications and leave , it's the nature of the web. Then there's a subset who stay and do more like ya'll. So not all those 60,000 registered sign-ins will do classifications all at the same time. Though we do get people to come back and classify a few with newsletters reminding them about the project and the science results coming, and we're constantly getting new people that come and classify a few and leave. There are people on the site all the time, but when the majority are on Talk is definitely one effect depending on when you log in the people that tend to be on Talk could be at work or busy with their day. Also not all of the volunteers come to Talk, but some of the new volunteers will come to Talk too.

    Cheers,
