the shadows seem to imply that the spider like features are ridges, the blue is amazing

The fresh looking blue fan towards the top is at a different angle to the dark one above it, implying that one was formed before the other. Knowing which came first would help a lot in understanding what's going on. the top one looks to have 2 fans both with the same wind direction, one short/fat the other long/thin?
