#straightlines that whole region has top to bottom parallel lines. The spider at the bottom cuts through them so surface feature rather than imaging artifact?

Nope, that's digital noise from the image sensor, it's quite common to see.

when you zoom in its a 2 pixel burn out....edit...the first image is a 4 pixel burn out, both are running in a NW to SE direction.
