    Interesting features in a fanfield.

It could be different minerals deposited by the vent. The dark coloured, light weight particles / droplets will hang in the atmosphere longer and will drift further on any wind. The particles / droplets with more mass will fall sooner, creating the smaller blue fan. A second suggestion is that there were two stages to the vent, the first part when the dark particles / liquid erupt because this liquid floats over the pale blue liquid, once the darker liquid has vented the blue vents until the pressure under the crust has dissipated. It would be interesting to know if this pattern occurs in the same places each year, do the blue fans rely on specific areas or do the dark plumes 'evolve' into the two tone plumes as the surface minerals erode each year, exposing a different blue mineral which then starts to vent.
