Their seems to be a big crack where many of the fans have occurred at once is this true

I'm thinking that this is one of the terraced areas we've looked at recently and the fans are all on the slopes between terraces,

Have a look at this one 4 or 5. Screen widths down. This is from the polar layers and the bands of fans are on the slopes between layers.

Sorry kith not to scale was just comparing the shape. Antarctica is much bigger about 5000 km along the horizontal axis
