I think they do too, but it's too cold (someone said -193C....?)
Must be solid material then, methinks.

May be if there was a warm area beneath this pool to keep it liquid then that might explain it. You can see little dark blobs along the crack SW of the main pool (if it is one) like melted gaps in ice.

Thye core of Mars is dead, I think. No heat coming from below like Earth. Worth asking a scientist though...!

Not liquid - these are blotches/fans on araneiform terrain. There is a useful blog post about these.
