Planet Four Talk

I had wallpaper like this.

I have an astrophysics background (stellar stuff) and have worked on astronomical spacecraft, but am quite new to the detailed studying of planetary surfaces. This is only my second Planet Four image, but I'm intrigued. This looks exactly like some wallpaper I used to have in the late '80s (interestingly, around the time I was doing my PhD looking at dust grains around novae). What could cause this? The lines (gouges?) are parallel, though not completely straight. (This latter point could be a line-of-sight effect due to the surface curvature, if the field of view is wide enough.) If I saw these on the Earth's surface I'd suggest they were glacial gouges. I'd really like to find out more about what could cause this.
