Fan/sun directions

  Looks to me that fans are almost always pointing away from the sun. Any theories why?

  would the angle not be greater as is the angle from sunrise to sunset on a sundial

  Some fans (not these) are very narrow and away from sun - could they just be shadows of active plumes?

  would imagine thats to do with prevailing winds, warm air travelling from the equater then returning at a lower altitude back north....alledgedly 😃
