White dots at source of fan

  Haven't seen these before - white dots at source of fan. Also, there are white dots without fans - any thoughts?

  I have seen these also on a couple of pictures. I describe them as mushroom shapes. They seem to be at the bottom right corner of fans or blotches. Maybe they are the source of the black material as it comes to the surface ?

  These are boulders as well. they support creating fans by warming up the ice where they lie so much, that the blotches and fans erupt there first.
