Beautiful diagonal parallel striations

  Interesting image of diagonal striations, they seem to not be cracks as they are shallow at ends and deeper in the middle (See central striation).

  What could cause these?

  Just diverted off to HiRISE http://www.uahirise.org/ESP_029684_0950 and found this area referred to as Giza. not a lot more information, at least you can see where the region is.
