    Have you ever seen marks that glaciers leave behind when they passed over relatively soft stone dragging some harder rocks underneath them? Something like these http://www.panoramio.com/photo/16345544 ? Nature does all the stuff, any kind of stuff, all the weird patterns.

    ok for the glacier bit. they leave #tramlines on earth. but something doesn't ring true here. i got an image with #tramlines AND 2 small #fans. going by the diagram below #fans are caused by CO2 and dust erupting through the seasonal cap.


    unless the hard rocks underneath are sort of frozen dusty sand or something but then would the glacier make #tramlines in frozen sand and dust???

    yeah and i know it was a dark blotch but it seemed too irregular and when i said nature doesnt build in straight lines i was quoting the movie prometheus

    Ah, sorry I have not seen it 😦 Anyway, mostly science fiction is a fiction, though I love it!
