What causes the blue and white residue from this fan?

When an ice surface get's more reflective, than it becomes bluer in color images, how much bluer or whiter, depends a bit on how 'interesting' are the other color channels. THis is because every image is stretched a lot to maximize the visibility for differences in the image, and not necessarily to make it look exactly like it would be visible for human eyes.
