Interested in knowing why the spots here are so dark compared to the other fans I came across.

Hi there. You'll probably see several colours and shades of fans or blotches as you mark more images. Some areas seem to have red dust fans on show, other areas have black ones like those in your image. There are also the rather beautiful 'frost fans' which are blue in colour. It might be that some dust spots have only a fine layer of dust, so they look pale, whilst others have a thick layer which makes them look darker.

Hope that helps. Nice to see you here. Cheers.

    Hiya,

Sometimes there is carbon dioxide frost associated with the fans and that might make the look different.

    Cheers,
