Greenish- Filter or?

  • amirrsyd by amirrsyd

    Hello!

I understand that green patches indicate the lack of green indicate lack of data from the red filter. Some pictures which demonstrate this are really green, some of them appear emerald-like in color. This image however seems ambiguous to me as it is yellowish-green. As taken in the southern summer these cannot be frostings. Is there an explanation to the color or am I thinking too much and it is simply the lack of data from the red filter? I need to put my mind at peace 😃

    Thanks!

    Hi amirrsyd,

You're right for the very read bars. In this case you're probably seeing the right colors. For more on how the colors you see in the images you can check out this blog post. Also sometimes the blue green color can mean frost or the fan particles sinking into the ice with the ice melting and refreezing. You can learn more about that in this comment from science team member Michael .

    Cheers,
