I was wondering if people could tell me what the clumps are on this picture? I am just a Space fanatic/Amateur so i don't have any knowledge on what these things are, if anyone could help explain thing to me that would be much appreciated.

hi i am no expert but the clumps are actually hollows, sounds weird but you have to get your mind around it to thinking as well as seeing, and boy does it give you a headache sometimes, i squint and focus this one is a real toughy though,

The clumps are channels carved into the ice. We call them "spiders" or "spider-iike" channels. They are carved into the surface of Mars by carbon dioxide gas trapped under the thawing carbon dioxide ice sheet on the south pole of Mars. You can learn more about what these features are here and here.
